Administration
· Safety reminder:  except when the ferry is being loaded or unloaded, no persons other than ferry employees are allowed past the gates on the ferry piers. The moveable ramps and associated machinery are dangerous places and there is no protection in place at the end of the ramps to prevent falling into deep water.
· A reminder that commuter passes and senior/disabled passes are to be used only by the person(s) who are named on the pass.

Finance
· The Treasurer reported that, because of bank fees, it would not be cost-effective to set up a procedure for members to pay assessments by credit card.
· HMC can have a corporate credit card (for use in purchasing goods and services) at no cost to the company. The office staff will continue to evaluate the possible benefits.

Land Use
· HMC purchase of the former Lewis property is still in progress.

Legal Liaison
· We continue to assist the attorneys working on  the lawsuits and quite a bit of time has been  spent in the past two months on legal issues.  The Island Manager and the Board of Trustees  president have been required to attend hearings on motions and for mediation. The mediation process is moving forward and there  appears to be a possibility that a reasonable  outcome (a settlement) will occur prior to go- ing to trial later this year.
