Meet my mom:

This is a note from Phyllis Krueger, full time resident. My mother, Joyce Beaucage (Bo cage), is 5 foot tall, weighs 100 pounds, has short gray hair, wears glasses, and smokes. She will almost always have her purse, and may be searching for something in it.  She is frequently confused and disoriented. So far she has always been able to make her way home from her walks. Lately the walks have begun to be 2 hours long. Please call me if you see her so I can at least track where she is. She lives with me near the North  Beach, 1305 E Herron. 884- 6510. Thanks. Also, the ferry crew knows when mom is allowed to come over and meet me. If you happen to give her a ride, please tell the ferry crew.

AUCTION DONATIONS WANTED

The Boosters are seeking donations of items for auction Do you have something that might drive the bidding through the roof? Last year, one couple cooked a gourmet seafood dinner for six with a different wine for each course. If you have a business, do you have goods or services that you can donate?  Can you crochet the perfect afghan? Is there a Monet sitting in your attic just gathering dust? Gift certificates are great. Please, no flea market rejects. And we don't do clothes, unless you have a spare Dior gown to donate...

Drop your items off at the Community Center by August 1st and the Boosters will add it to the auction list. If you plan to donate a certificate for goods or a service, you can call in the details to 884-4663 and the Boosters will prepare the certificate for you.

After the food is paid for,
all proceeds go to improvement projects on the island.

THANKS, KEVIN,
FOR ALL YOU DID OVER SEVERAL YEARS.
WE'LL MISS YOU!!

Kevin's Burgers and Brauts have become an institution on Herron Island. The Big Three summer weekends, Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day, would always find him behind the grill. The proceeds were donated to the Boosters. Kevin has decided to retire from this responsibility. We thank him for his time and efforts and his generous spirit that added so much to Herron Island celebrations.
