North Beach Clean-Up Day
& Community Burn

	They had the fire started not long after sunrise.		Even the littlest islanders helped clean up the beach.
Volunteers brought brush down for those who couldn't.		At one point, we had five trucks waiting to unload - a traffic jam at North Beach!

Suzie keeping the pile tidy. Nick used his backhoe to keep the fire the right size.		We lost count after more than 40 truckloads full of brush!
	Gary tuned in the Mariners game so the volunteers wouldn't miss it.		With one community fire, we eliminated the need for dozens of small fires...smart idea!
The Boosters baked a turkey for fresh deli sandwiches with all the fixins'.		There was also chili, chips, carrot cake, tons of cookies, coffee & lemonade.
	Always working - Mary Turpin tended the fire so others could eat lunch.		Check out Kathy's three-marshmallow fork!
